Twitch Streamer was a simple dialogue recording exercise that turned out way funnier than it needed to be. Each group was given a pre-written script with a 2-way argument. I really hated the dialogue we got so I rewrote it on spot while half paying attention to the lecture.
I was watching Xavier: Renegade Angel at the time so I was pretty much just playing him, mimicking his cadence and everything. The weekend before filming, the Nintendo Network for Wii U and 3DS shut down, I broke up with my girlfriend to pursue Transgenderism, and beat Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. Needless to say, I put my whole bussy into this performance. Professor Miriam gave me the cap and cape to wear in the shoot. I don’t really know why she did that but it made my character look 10x funnier.
We didn’t have enough time to get clearance on an interesting location, so Trevon had the idea to play a Twitch Streamer. We could use the editing suites across from our classroom, and show the lights on screen without worry. It didn’t matter that he was streaming on a Mac. It didn’t matter that we had 2 youtube videos pulled up. Movies are better when the computers are fake.
Tre’s genuine anger against my scripted bullshit was such a dynamic. “How do we get away with murder chat” was completely improvised. We were in tears after the take. I can only imagine what it felt like to be sitting in the class beyond our door and see some guy pop out and stab a faggy dork in a cape. That took about 6 takes too. There’s no way I would pay attention to that lecture.
